OK.....here it is. The real review without the boo-hooing & whining. I can't imagine what the previous negative reviews can possibly be talking about, unless you are an extreme pessimist. The ship, service, food, & entertainment were top notch the entire week. Embarkation took about a total of 10 easy minutes. The cabin (Outside balcony) was the same as pictured in the brochure, and the balcony made it even better. There is nothing like ordering room service & eating on your own private balcony. There were many, many opportunities to eat all day long. The 24 hour pizzeria was high quality, as well as the burgers, Chinese food, and the buffet at the South Beach Restaurant. I never waited in line for more that 5-8 minutes for any of the on deck food lines. The dining room food was exquisite, as well as the service. There was a great menu selection & EVERYTHING I tried in the dining room was excellent. This nonsense about not being able to find a deck chair was untrue. Yea....maybe if you sleep until 12 noon you may have a problem, but if you get up around 8 or 9 you'll be OK. The excursions were fairly priced for the money you pay. The cruise director, John Heald, remains to be the best in the business and is very funny & entertaining. The entertainment on the ship offered a great variety with Vegas style dancers, singers, and a magic / illusion show that is a must see. The comedians were very good, especially the late night shows after midnight. The ship was always clean....if there was trash or a dirty table, it was quickly taken care of by the deck staff. The cabin steward cleaned the cabin twice a day, and always left a "surprise" during the evening service. Robes and beach towels were provided on a daily basis. OK, so you say where are the negatives. I guess no review would be complete without at least one negative.....well, here it is. I guess Carnival is offering such great specials on certain cruises that it seems to be attracting an unusually high number of rednecks & white trash. Believe me, I'm not rich.....just an everyday normal guy, but c'mon people it's a cruise....dress like it. If you insist on wearing jean shorts & T-shirts to the dining room, remember that it may offend others who do dress up and like a nice atmosphere. If you can't dress the part, why don't you just go back to your cabin & order room service in your underwear & watch Jerry Springer. Other than a few rude people, (no fault of Carnival) it was the best vacation ever. I highly recommend this ship and Carnival Cruise Lines to anyone that is looking for a quality vacation for the money.
