Funship Delivers!

Sail Date: November 10, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The staff told us that they were very happy with the way the cruise line treats them. This definitely affects the way they treat you on the cruise, because the funship just keeps on rockin'. If you like to roll up your sleeves and enjoy the party, this is your ship.

Casino, great. Formal dining room, 1st class. Buffet, just OK. Great shows, comedians, and when you get to the islands, you don't know wether to stay on the boat or get off and explore!

Pros: Service, Service, Service. The staff were terrific!

Cons: This ship shows some age and wear.

Recommends Carnival Triumph? Yes!

Ship Quality
The ship is clean, accessible and comfortable. They need to refurbish some of the areas on the ship that show it's been at sea since '99.
Food and Dining
Formal dining room was a blast! Waiters singing, dancing on the tabletops, and a first rate chef staff. Buffet service was good, not great. 24 hour pizza a plus, sandwich bar very good.
Cabin / Stateroom
Nice, nice, nice. The bed comfortable, the cabin service perfect, and kept very clean.
Service and Staff
Whatever we wanted, we just had to say the word. This is the strength of the cruise. Staff took time to talk to you, never hurried but very efficient.
The "funship" always has something fun to do! We enjoyed the entertainment, the casino, the food, and the whole experience.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
This is a "relax at the beach" private island owned by carnival. Ship staff serve you on the island, and it was fun.
Don't Miss: There isn't any.
Grand Turk Island
Nothing much to do here either. Get to the beach early for a cabana. I actually thought there would be more to this port. Kinda like Half Moon Cay.
Don't Miss: There isn't any. Perfect for relaxing.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Take the Bacardi tour!
Don't Miss: none.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
St. Thomas is a great port for shopping, but Magen's Bay is crowded with tourists. We took an excursion to St. John's and went snorkeling at Trunk Bay. Terrific!
Don't Miss: Paradise Point
