What better way to end the night (or to start the night) than a glass of port and a nice stogey?

First of all, the three star rating is mostly for the teeny tiny, chilly rooms, and the location being directly underneath the kids camp (I think they were playing basketball or something when we were... there LOL...Ugh). Whoever approved those plans must have had a few too many drinks of the day when they did it. I knew this going into it, so I had lowered expectations. My husband had a deep tissue/bamboo massage that was phenomenal...Anzell did a great job and he actually had to ask her to lighten up in pressure a bit, and that has never happened before! She’s great! I got a medium depth Swedish massage and found the room to be too cold, or I think I would have enjoyed it more. Great massage technique, just not as relaxing as I’d hoped. In hind sight, I wish I’d gone to the steam room or sauna first. My massage therapist put a cooling muscle balm on my back after she was done with it and I hated it, as I was already chilly. By the time I realized what it was, it was already on and nothing could be done about it. I know next time to tell them that I don’t like cooling products. The oils they used made my skin feel fantastic, though. A couple of days later, we both got facials. The front desk was easy to work with and gave us a discount since we’d already booked services with them. I can see how people would feel that they’re high pressure, but if you don’t get flustered by it, they’re actually really easy to work with. Just take your time, be polite, and remember that you don’t have to buy anything you don’t want. They don’t take it personally if you don’t book a service or buy a product. Ive found in our times cruising and at the spa, the more respectful and calm you are (not always easy when there’s a big crowd waiting or you’re alone with someone who’s job it is to try to sell you something), the better their service is. Of course, they give you a continuing “treatment plan” that includes the very expensive Elemis products, but if you make it politely clear that you won’t be purchasing any, they finish talking about the products and leave it at that. They know they’re spendy and I’d venture to guess most people don’t purchase them. They’re used to it and not offended by a smile and a no thank you. The facials were, quite frankly, amazing. My skin was freaking out from all of the carbs, sugar, and alcohol that I don’t normally consume, plus a couple of nights I was too lazy to remove my makeup. It was getting extremely sensitive and I’ve had these bumps on the apples of my cheeks for ages that I thought was probably rosacea...they’d flared up and were so painful. I was worried that any treatment might sting or make it worse. Well, Caitlyn (with gorgeous, glassy smooth skin) fixed me right up and I couldn’t believe it, but in one session (resurfacing facial), my skin was soothed and my bumps were flat again. My skin still looks amazing. I’m so grateful and she was so much fun. I felt like we really connected. And I loved the sonic spatula they used on my skin...totally different and far more effective than my home sonic cleansing devices. Worth it!! And the Elemis products really are outstanding. My husband had his first facial ever and his skin looked wonderful afterward (still does, actually!). He’d never noticed the fine lines and congestion around his eyes and nose until this cruise when he looked in the mirror in the cabin lighting and after he was done, his skin was just glowing. It looked so healthy and his fine lines are so much less pronounced now! Read More

The massage itself was amazing too bad ever service is followed by a high pressure sales pitch to get you to buy a ton of products so that they undo all your relaxation. I will book a spa in port fro... m now on and avoid the used car salesmen like treatment post service. Read More
