Be sure to meet your room steward and don’t be afraid to ask any of the personnel for anything you need.

It was very nice time. Not full capacity. It does rock back in forth. Rough waters. So ne prepared and have some motion sickness meds.

I said it before and I’ll say it again…. She’s an older ship! She shows her age, she shows her wear and she is still beautiful! How many years does she have left? I’d tend to think things will happen when she leaves Charleston for good in 2 years. Maybe she has 4-5 years of service left? Maybe she’ll get a serious overhaul? I tend to believe that she’s on her way out. Maybe because of the trend of shifting to alternative fuels? Anyway, she’s still worth giving a try.

Have a great time on your cruise. I have read guests comments about the food being not so great and smells in the hallways. We have never experienced that and have sailed on the Sunshine 3 times in the last couple years. The crew is great! Everyone has smiles on the faces. They work 12 hour days, seven days a week for months. Our room steward said he has been on the ship for 5 months and had only been off once for 45 mins to get toothpaste and person items. So we need to show them lots of respect for all they do. Most of us could not work that long and still show up everyday with a smile.

The shop is a smaller ship than some of the newer ones in the fleet. Get a good layout of the ship before you board. Splurge a bit for the Chef’s Table, you will not be disappointed. The shows, comedy, and trivia were always excellent. If you’re a dancer, who likes to boogie, be prepared to hit the dance floor after 11 pm. There is no separate dance floor and multiple venues are used for other events. Some ships have their own dance floor and they kick off around 8 pm which is nice, but be prepared to wait til later to hit the dance floor on the Sunshine.

I most generally cruise on the smaller ships, other than getting used to it's layout it's not bad. If you are looking for a newer, bigger ship, the Sunshine will be a disappointment for you. We were stuck with dealing with weather from Tropical storm Nicole so lots of ship movements and staggering walking the halls.
