A great short inexpensive cruise to Bimini! I would not hesitate to sail on the Sunshine again. This was everything I enjoyed in a cruise. I’m ready to book our next!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Given the Charleston cruise port is kind of make shift I was pleasantly surprised how fast and smooth it went. They are very efficient in getting people through the embarkation process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Carnival figured it out on this ship in my opinion. The amount of food options on board the Sunshine is fantastic. I never even ate at the lido marketplace. Food in the main dining room did not wow me on this cruise, but overall it was still enjoyable.
Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse
5 out of 5
The steak was the best out of 7 cruises I have been on.
Cucina Del Capitano

Good Italian food and great service.
Guy's Burger Joint

The burgers were great! I do think the venue could go without the obnoxious Guy commentary blasting through the speakers.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Carnival has packed a good amount of stuff to do throughout the Sunshine. While it rained on and off during our entire cruise we always had something fun to do on board.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We only watched one show called Latin nights. It was a good what seemed like a “low budget production” from what I could tell. The cast was great and I really enjoyed it. The highlight of the trip was Zach Daniel’s in the piano bar! We spent every night in the piano bar having a good time. Would come on the cruise again just to sit in the piano bar.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Overall very pleased with the service on board the Sunshine. Our room steward did a good job of keeping our room clean. All of the staff was friendly and would help in anyway to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
I came into this cruise with an open mind knowing it was an older ship. With that mindset or maybe the fact it was my first cruise post Covid, and I was just happy to be back this ship gets a bad wrap. It’s older has some cosmetic stuff on the outside, but overall it’s a beautiful ship. The weird layout of where the galley is in the ship can make it harder to navigate to certain areas. It wasn’t a huge issue to us just a few extra steps sometimes.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Your typical interior room. A fairly good size bathroom. Plenty of storage.
Ship tip
It’s a cruise it’s what you make of it! Expect to have a good time and you’ll have a good time. Let the little stuff go. GO see Zach Daniel’s in the piano bar.
Loved Bimini it’s almost got that private island feel on one side, but then you can go explore the local area as well. We choose to rent a golf cart and explore on our own. There is basically one main rode down the island so it’s easy to navigate. Be prepared to pay $100 for 2 people and a golf cart. It seems to be whatever the local wants to charge as I’ve seen videos when they first started it was at $60 then $90. This week it was $100. I imagine with more ships stopping at Bimini the “commercialization” will happen in the near future. As of right now it’s a beautiful place to get away from the normal hustle and bustle of most ports in the Caribbean these days.
