Review summary

We are stuck with Carnival because a lot of the people we cruise with like the low price. The workers on the ship are fantastic, but the food totally suffers to obtain that low price. However Carnival should really do a better job of training their chefs as it doesn't take a lot of money to bakes really good cookies and cakes. Also the quality of the ice cream is very low. Ports - Stop going to Turks and Caicos, one bombed out port.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
No delays, virtually no lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Carnival's main dining room experience continues to drop in quality. Staff tried their hardest, but management continues to cut personal. Food quality is the biggest fail. 1/2" thick prime rib, IF YOUR LUCKY, is just a joke. The steak you are able to get is flank steak, which I would call roast beast. Who ever is the dessert chef must have cooked for State Prisons prior to working for Carnival. All in all I would grade the cuisine on par with a High School cafeteria.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Entertainment has sunk to the level of Disney World acts. The live comedians was the one high spot.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The Staff were excellent and tried their hardest. Unfortunately when a corporation squeezes every nickel they spend good people can only do so much.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I always attempt to view the cabin on Youtube. The balcony cabins that are turned sideways near interior stairways always have a nice size balcony and the room itself just seems bigger.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
close to our Florida condo. Also the parking at Park Port Canaveral is reasonable and almost as quick as parking on the pier.

Grand Turk Island

1 out of 5
This is a totally bombed out port. If I never see it again, it would be too soon.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Lot to do and experience.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

best thing to do is get a cab and go to the airport to experience the landing and takeoffs.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
