Review summary

The first few days we were in rough seas. And you can’t blame anyone for that. It’s just Mother Nature. And some members of my family didn’t feel good. But, as soon as they felt better we were able to enjoy the rest of the cruise, which was the last 4 days of the cruise. We made the best of it. Somethings we weren’t happy about stuff like the food selection, but we still enjoyed our time together. It was better than being back home in the cold. I think we might try a newer Carnival ship next time, or maybe even try a different cruise line. But, cruising is in our future. And if we can survive the rough seas we were in, we can survive anything!

Fast and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The wait for YTD was long. The service was slow. The food was ok, nothing great. Didn’t go to the specialty restaurants. The buffet had awful selections. So, I never ate off the buffet, except breakfast. The served the same thing at every lunch and breakfast everyday. The pizza place was great, as was Guys burgers. These were the only places we ate for lunch everyday. I couldn’t wait to get home to eat stuff other than pizza and burgers for lunch.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Couldn’t use the water slides since it was too windy and they were shut down most of the cruise, as was the deck with the sport things. My son didn’t like the pool because it was too deep. Lots of trivia games nothing exciting.

Entertainment

The shows were good. The sound could of been better. Sometimes the music was too loud and you couldn’t hear the performers.

Children's Programs

My daughter loved O2 she is 14. Her birthday is in May and they allowed her to move up to the next level so she could hang out with kids closer to her age. She loved this place and spent most of her time here. She met new friends and loved the girl that ran her group I believe her name was CoCo.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The crew were great. No complaints here. They took care of my daughter who has Celiac disease. But the food never tasted great for her.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The layout was fine. I really don’t have anything to compare it too. The only cruise I had been on prior was RC and that was 16 years ago. The stairways could of been cleaner. The handles on the stair case seemed to be sticky and dirty all the time. So maybe they need to clean them more. Overall the ship seemed cleaned. The public bathrooms were always clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

It was always clean. Never an issue with that. Loved the guy who cleaned it for us. He was super nice! The room was just too small for a family of 4. It was hard to move around in and get ready.

Ship tip

The ship was ok. Nothing wonderful. The buffet food is not good. It is an older ship. I would like to try a newer ship or maybe a different cruise line.

Ports of call

Oranjestad, Aruba

As soon as you got off the ship, people were bombarding you to go with them. My kids felt uncomfortable, and they are 9 and 14 years old. We ended up taking a bus to Eagle Beach. It was $5 a person and you had to pay the same on the way back to the beach. The beach was gorgeous. We stayed there for 2 hours. Now the lady that owned the yellow place that sold drinks and owned the bathrooms. Was a crazy lady. Yes they charge $1 to use the restroom and thats fine, but my son is 9 and I wanted to use the restroom with him to help him change out of his wet clothes and she wouldn’t allow me to go in with him. So he had to go in by himself and almost locked him self in there. So I would advise people to not go here. We headed back to where the shops are by the port and my daughter got her hair braided there. The lady’s that did it was super nice. The shops were ok.

Willemstad, Curacao

We just walked around. The floating bridge was cool. No excursions. Good shops.

Grand Turk Island

Loved this port. Even though there was 2 ships docked here it never seamed to crowded. The beach was clean as well as the rest of the area. We just stayed right by where the boat was docked. We went in the ocean and the shops right by there. We enjoyed Margaritaville the most. The pool and chairs were free and the food was good. The shops were great. And the bathroom was always clean.

Disembarkation

It was easy. We took our luggage off ourselves and went down to the liquid lounge to wait to get off the boat. We were able to get off the boat at 7:45 and on the road at 8:30.
