On Guard, Spain!

Room Type: Balcony

Wonderful crew and destination (Barcelona\, Palma de Mallorca\, Gran Canaria\, Malaga\, and Grand Turk\, New Orleans). Very energetic crew and appreciate the revamped ship\, although I don't quite understand a giant water slide on a ship with primarily over 50 yr.old passengers (no lines? -only joking). Carnival continues to ask passengers to pay THEIR employees for them with gratuities. I really would rather Carnival was a fair employer and I would accept a higher cruise fare. I notice too often that cruisers \"opt out\" of gratuities and the great Carnival staff suffers. Maybe they need a UNION? I also wish Carnival's Guest Services were allowed to actually help cruisers with complaints. We had a nice balcony room just below the new \"Marketplace\". We did not sleep well due to service carts wheeling overhead every 5 minutes or so all night\, every night for 16 nights. The noise was\, undoubtedly\, due to lack of good soundproofing. Sounded like a horrible thunderstorm all night long\, with our complaint unresolved (seemingly unheard)? Perhaps one of the big wigs that boarded in New Orleans for the official send off of the all new \"Carnival Sunshine\" should have stayed in our room? All that aside\, the cruise was very enjoyable and the ports were interesting.

Pros: Beautiful Spain and the weather

Cons: Carnival Entertainment

Recommends Carnival Sunshine? Yes!

Entertainment
Don't think trivia should be the main entertainment for 16 days. Carnival needs to step it up a bit. The shows were good but too few and far between. Having the crew do double duty entertaining and \"serving\" is kinda stupid\, don't you think?
Ship Quality
I would say that 50 percent of the passengers had bad colds and coughs aboard this cruise. Can't imagine why?
Food and Dining
Best food - \"Guy's Burger Joint. The rest of the food was kind of eh...Slow service at the main dining rooms every night so if you enjoy 2 hour dinners this cruise is for you.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was very nice. The cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating at all times.
Service and Staff
Terrific people who deserve better employer
