Review summary

Overall it was a really fun day, it was just really expensive. They make it seem like you’re getting a good deal, only $330 to go to the Bahamas sounds great right? But they have all these holds, make you pay almost $100 for gratuity even though we didn’t use any services. I was dissapointed pictures were so expensive too, they should be cheaper so everyone has a good memory of their trip

I liked the onboard activities. I wish the gym was 24/7 though because you’re spending most of the day doing things and then it’s closed when you’re ready to go or have the time.

The carnival Cruise worker at the Parking garage blew a fuse on my car by putting jumper cables on it backwards. It cost me $150 to get it fixed and I had to pay $87 just to get it towed out of the parking garage. Parking garage is also super expensive. It’s a shame they charge you that much a day when they know you just spent money on a cruise

Sounds Like you did not read the details you agreed to when booking the cruise. The gratuities are always mentioned in anything you agree to booking the cruise. These go to those that prepare the meals, clean the cabins and work behind the scenes in other areas. So unless you did not eat, drink or have your cabin cleaned during the cruise, then you did use services that are paid for with the gratuities. The holds that are placed on your credit / debit card are also mentioned in the details when booking the cruise. A base amount is usually put on hold At the start of the cruise to ensure the funds are approved. If you spend more during the cruise then was placed on the initial hold, then the cruise adds those charges daily with an additional hold. The final amount for the entire cruise is then actually charged at the end of the cruise. Any amounts above that that are still on hold are released based on the requirements of your card issuer or bank. Some hold them 2-3 days and others may hold 10 days or more, but that is the policy of the card issuer, not Carnival. The funds on hold aren’t taken from your account and shouldn’t be an issue unless you are close to the account limit.
