Review summary

Great from beginning to end. "Faster to the Fun" is a great investment and well worth it. Each and enjoy everything just know you'll need to diet when you get home.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We purchased "Faster to the Fun," which make the process quick and painless.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining room food and service were amazing. From express breakfast on port days to sea day brunch to the dinners. All of the food was fantastic. Everyone in our group couldn't keep ourselves from ordering multiple items at every meal.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Activities were the same as they are on every ship. The cruise director Leigh and the activities director Connor were entertaining and fantastic. The pools and fitness center were small and got crowded but to be expected. The only place lacking was the library. There were virtually no games to play and only one puzzle that was missing 3 pieces.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The stage show performers were great as well. The productions were still a little cheesy but still entertaining. There was a violin trio that played in various places around the ship that were fantastic. You could here their music from other decks and it kind of drew you in.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My kids didn't spend too much time at Camp Ocean but the time they did spend was enjoyable. They had fun in the pools, the water slide, mini golf and giant chess.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
June, Jan and Nyoman our dinner wait staff were amazing. By the end of the cruise we were like family. They were attentive and made zero mistakes. They remembered our likes from previous nights so they were prepared to take care of us efficiently.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
As always, the ships staff are constantly cleaning throughout the day so its rare to ever see a mess.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our balcony cabin was pretty much like every other balcony cabin we've been in. They're a little small for 4 people but you make do because you don't spend a lot of time in it. Our cabin stewards cleaned regularly and never had us making calls with requests.

Ship tip

Buy "Faster to the Fun." It's totally worth it. It was only about $80 for the cabin and it got us on and off with diamond and platinum members. It also got us our cabin first when we boarded and gets you out first on port days.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We did our own thing here. We were planning on going to the Office at Madrano Beach but it was closed for renovations. We went next door to Mango. As always, the seats on the beach were free as long as you ordered food and drink. The food was delicious but a little overpriced. The biggest drawback that kept us from really relaxing was the constant barrage of beach vendors selling their tourist stuff. It was a continuous stream one after another. I felt like I spent the entire time saying & nodding no.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
We traveled to El Cid Moro Beach Resort for the day. I had gotten email pricing for the day pass ahead of time from the hotel and luckily I did because I was quoted different prices when we got there. The hotel day pass was $48/adult and $38/kids. No matter what, the day pass pricing was a great deal for what you get. You get free access to the entire pool area. The pass includes beer & soda as well as buffet breakfast and lunch and their 2 restaurants.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Here is where we invested in an excursion. We went to Las Caletas. It was super expensive at $139/adult and $99/kids but what you get and the experience you have is worth every penny. You take a 45 minute boat ride to a remote area where they have an entire experience built into the beach and forest area. They had several restaurant style eating areas with delicious buffet. Activities included zip lines for all age groups, paddle boards, kayaks, hammocks and beach toys. They also had a children's adventure area where they ride a donkey, climb a rock wall and ride a zip line. Kids 10+ also have a waterslide and a zip line that ends in the ocean. They also have staff photographers that are around all day taking pics of everyone and everything. The only drawback was they charged $130 for a flash drive containing all the photos. Hugely overpriced.

Disembarkation

We got off at our leisure with no issues.
