Review summary

This was our 5th Carnival cruise.  8 sleepless nights, food that wasn't fresh and not much to do.  Not sure why things are going south for Carnival.  2 highlights were Malcolm Burn our Cruise Director and our excursion in Antigua.  Other than that, this was a boring cruise.  Hard to relax and get a good nights sleep when every night at 2am there were very loud passengers passing by our cabin as well as hearing cups and plates clank on a tray passing our cabin around 10pm.  We are early risers and go to sleep around 9pm.  We had drinks on our tab that weren't ours.  I was able to get that removed at guest services but they questioned me as if I was lying.  Will be trying another cruise line for our next cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Poor quality of food on the Lido deck and in the dining room. It wasn't fresh at all. You could see the fruit and vegetables had been frozen and defrosted. And you could taste it too.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Wasn't much to do. And whatever there was to do, was inside in the lobby and not on the Lido deck. Why cruise if you can't do FUN activities outside?

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The cruise staff entertainment was great. The comedian sucked.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our cabin steward was very good as well as the cruise director. The dining room staff was so slow that we only ate there one night.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
the layout of the splendor as all over the place and stench of smoke from the casino on deck 5 could be smelt all the way up to deck 10. GROSS

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5

Ship tip

The layout of the Splendor is a$$ backwards. You shouldn't have to walk up and across a deck to get somewhere on the other side.

Ports of call

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
Mystic Tours, best excursion. Lobster and Champagne lunch.
