A fun trip!""

Sail Date: March 01, 2014

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was clean, staff were friendly, and there was always something to do. There were alot of 'spring break' college students who monopolized the limited number of hot tubs and it was hard to find a lounge chair 'in the sun'. It was also 'tight' in the indoor areas on the 'colder weather' travel days. On the plus side; there were alot of activities and even my teenage travel companions found plenty to do! Allow plenty of time to get on/off the boat. It was stressful waiting in line to board/get off the boat in ports. We waited in line for almost 2 hours in NYC to get on the boat. The ship might consider staggering the embarkation times like they did for debarkation (which went much smoother). All in all relaxing and I'd do it again.

Pros: lots to do on the boat! :)

Cons: housekeeping vacuuming the hallway @ 8:00 a.m. each morning! :(

Recommends Carnival Splendor? Yes!

Ship Quality
Very big, not always accessible, and common areas could be quite crowded.
Food and Dining
Food was average. Buffets were crowded, the food at the seated meals was better, had the late seating would have preferred the flexibility of eating when I wanted to.
Cabin / Stateroom
Had a balcony which made a 'huge' difference. I highly recommend the upgrade and we were able to get one by asking at no additional fee, yay! The room was small, but the 'towel animals' and attentiveness of staff made us feel at home.
Service and Staff
Suresh ('superfresh') was an attentive cocktail waiter, and Imade (our waiter for dinner each night) learned all of our names and gave us personal attention. He even sang and danced with our dining group each night!
Entertainment
Lots to do; mini golf, yoga, spa, swimming, hot tubs, nightly entertainment (singing, dancing, comedy) shore excursions.
