Review summary

Carnival as a cruise line is falling apart.  Service in the dining room was lousy.  They are sooo under staffed, on 2 separate nights, I waited after sitting down up to 15 mins to even have someone acknowledge my party of 5 had sat down.  After the 1st incident, I asked to have the Maitre De Ramesh contact me in my stateroom (6401). A  plate of "treats" with a "Sorry" note from the girl who worked nightly at the table arrangement desk for Any Time Seating...no call from Ramesh. The pizza and deli counters typically had 1 (ONE) person working, with lines 15 to 20 long during hours Carnival SHOULD expect demand to be high.  The rooms were not cleaned very well...I intentionally left stuff on my cabin floor to see if it would be vacumm cleaned up...still there after my bed was made...every day. There was hardly anything to do for activities for my 25, 24 and 20 year olds...multiple times they were not able to get into the comedy shows...doors closed...simple put, comedy shows was one of the only things to do that was worth going to, so the whole ship ran to the shows on sea nights. The creativity and variety of food on things like breakfast and lunch was "identical" day after day...zero surprise's from the head cook...I can tell you the menu of breakfast and each lunch station...they wee always the same.  The Mongolian restaurant took my family 40 mins in line to get our food made...3 guys cooking on a good day...normally 2. You could basically never get in the jacuzzi because drinkers would never get out...and kids were allowed to snorkel in the jacuzzi...!!! No controls in place by Carnival. As bad as the weather was, that was the least of the disappointment with Carnival. Even the Cigar Lounge, "The Cool"...did not even have a TV or 2 to watch sports games and stuff while smoking a cigar, which was available on the Norwegian and Princess Cruises I have been on with my wife.  Carnival is not doing well...  Guess you get what you pay for... Carnival is certainly the low budget no frills cruise line of today...

This is honestly my 2nd striaght time sailing with Carnival out of NY on the Canaveral, Nassau, Freeport route, and both times it was a huge dissapointment.

CARNIVAL is apparently plagued by the mishaps with ships and the services the last 2 cruises are showing clearly that Carnival is the "cheap line"...and to call them Fun Ships...hardly...when you cut $$s, services across the board show...and it is clear...
