7 Night Mexican Riviera (Los Angeles Roundtrip) Sail Date: September 02, 2012 Cabin Type: Inside Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 4 years ago
The ship was fun and well decorated, not too obnoxious.
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food quality was great. The options for open eating were plentiful and the Tandoori area was fantastic. Dinner was great and gave you good basic options you could have every night but also fun new choices as well as some exciting options like alligator and escargot. The lines were amazingly long into the dining room and there seemed to be no reason for that.

We really like the comedy on Carnival Cruise. The juggler that was on the main stage was great. The singers and dancers were kind of laughable but the older crowd seemed to enjoy them.
Service and Staff

The staff seemed like they were all miserable to be on the boat. Our server was rushed and bordering on rude. The buffet food staff seemed unhappy and customer service was condescending. We've never had this problem on a cruise. The dinner service was not even bad for a fancy restaurant it would have been had at a TGIFRidays.

The ship was clean and the decorations were not too obnoxious. The serenity adults only deck was great for reading a book and the lounge chairs were padded there. The pools were small but nice and the layout of hot tubs gave you lots of options.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice room\, we had an interior and it was like all other interiors on a cruise ship. We really liked the big vintage pictures next to each door. The area in the rooms were well used and organized.
