We take at least 3 cruises a year, so we know what excellence is and the Splendor is a far cry from excellence. It was like spring break and girls gone wild all wrapped into one. Teenagers screaming, running in the halls, slamming and banging on doors all hours of the night with no security in sight. Other seasoned passengers and we complained to the front desk, but nothing seemed to improve.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I wasn't all that impressed with the buffet food, although it wasn't all that bad, however, the selection and quality of the main dining room food was excellent. Any time dining is the only way to go for us.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The main dining room crew went above and beyond to get whatever we wanted.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very clean. Buffet was very crowded. Ship was a lot smaller than what we are used to.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very clean. We felt at home because of the cleanliness of the stateroom, however, our room was directly under the buffet and until around 1:00 in the morning, you heard the carts rolling around and some other disturbing noise that we couldn't figure out. It sounded like someone with high heels walking around, but none of the employees wear heels.

Pros: The main dining room waiters and service and the cabin attendants went above and beyond.

Cons: The lack of security on the ship which lead to inconsiderate, unruly teenagers running around all hours of the night disturbing those in their cabins.

Recommends Carnival Splendor? No.
