Great Trip

Sail Date: May 23, 2010

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

Myself, husband, three teenagers and one of their friends went on the cruise. Everyone had a great time except we missed the Suns Playoff game....(personally that was a minor inconvenience for me but a major disappointment for one of our 19 year old sons).
The staff in the Gold Pearl was so friendly and met all of our requests quickly and with a smile. Our rooms were always straightened up and our steward knew us by name after the first day.
The shows were good, the food good, and the ports were fun. We arranged our zip line tour outside of the cruise with Vallarta Tours and it was FANTASTIC.... we had a blast.

Embarkation and debarkation was easy and fast...we did the self debarkation....Parking was $105 for the week and very convenient.

Pros: Lots of activities, great staff, friendly, good food, beautiful ship.

Cons: Didn't have the Suns Playoffs in the sports bar

Recommends Carnival Splendor? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
we went cheap...three interior rooms and it was more than adequate (never in the room anyway). we did get the rooms on the "spa" level and LOVED it..... the spa privilege was great since its so quiet there (and on a big ship finding a quiet space can be a challenge).
Entertainment
Food and Dining
buffet got a bit boring for breakfast but it was always good.
Ship Quality
new ship, clean and well maintained. Yes, its pink but you really don't notice it too much after the first day.
Service and Staff
the waiter and room steward knew our names...remarkable.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Very pretty... easy to get to The Arch and Lover's Beach off the cruise.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Don't Miss: Zip Line Tour
Mazatlan, Mexico
