Fun first time

Sail Date: February 01, 2010

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

This was a good introduction to cruising for us. We chose Carnival mainly because it seemed to have lots to do for the kids and we were right. Service was great, food was pretty good, the shows we saw were great. My only complaint is that if you don't like hanging out around a pool or gambling, there isn't much more on the ship to do.

Pros: The camps for the kids

Cons: The decks around the pools were too crowded.

Recommends Carnival Splendor? Yes!

As I stated above, if you didn't like hanging out a pool or gambling, there was limited other activities to do.
Ship Quality
Ship was huge and very clean. It took us a few days to get the layout down though.
Food and Dining
The food in the dining room was excellent. Food in lido was good.
Cabin / Stateroom
We loved our oceanview room. I was not too small and provided a great place to get away when the boat seemed too crowded.
Service and Staff
Staff was great. Samuel and Inyan (spelling?) in the dining room were great hosts.
Children's Programs
Our kids had more fun on the ship than we did! They loved the programs and met lots of new friends.
