Room Type: Balcony

We left on January 24, 2010 on the Carnival Splendor. The ship is beautiful. This is our 9th cruise and we were very impressed with the ship. We read some negative comments on line about the ship being "pink" but we did not feel it overpowered the decor. Cohesive theme on this ship. Dining rooms were The Gold pearl and the Black pearl and were decorated accordingly. Stunning. This ship is the most elegant of the Carnival ships we have been on. Luxurious lounges and wonderful live bands! Beware though, Mazatlan is disgusing and I cannot understand why they stop there.

Pros: Cabo San Lucas

Cons: Mazatlan

Recommends Carnival Splendor? Yes!

Ship Quality
The ship was spotless everyday. Layout is a bit confusing but we enjoy "exploring" the ship. Difficulty even with a map to find the internet cafe and the Gold Pearl dining room.
Food and Dining
Best food on any cruise hands down. Also this ship has a free sushi bar every night, free pizza 24 hours, Indian food a deli and hamburgers and hot dogs all free. Also they have gone to 24 hour room service!
Cabin / Stateroom
Staterooms were the same as always but now have flat screen TV and all get the use of free robes while on board.
Service and Staff
A+ with friendliness and our waiters had our preferences down by the 3rd dinner. ie: lemon on the table for water, Ice tea at your place when you got there.
Entertainment
Great bands and the biggest thing is Carnival offers 2 occasions for FREE drinks, They will bring you whatever you ask for. You can have a mixed drink or beer. You do not have to have those premixed awful concoctions! Both events last an hour or more and you easily could have 3 to 4 drinks. Amazing!!
