Disappointed. You get what you pay for

Sail Date: September 01, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Room Type: Balcony

You get what you pay for. Staff complained about being overworked and were for the most part not the friendly or helpful. Difficult to navigate the ship. No decks go straight through. Hard to get around.

Pros: clean cabin

Cons: Automatic mandatory $70 gratuity fee per person, including children on top of all other gratuities automatically charged. Everything except public pool and night movie is a fee.

Recommends Carnival Splendor? No.

Ship Quality
Deck layout is poor.
Food and Dining
Below average, not many choices.
Service and Staff
Mostly not helpful, complained, seemed burnt out.
Children's Programs
Charges for activities not mentioned during cruise purchase.
Cabin / Stateroom
Clean, pretty generic. At least they weren't pink.
