You get what you pay for-not much!

Sail Date: October 01, 2009

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

You get what you pay-for. Cheap cruise=Poor crusie. Nothing special. The design was poor, food average, entertainment forgetable, added fees for spa, cell and internet usage were astronomical! If you are debating between this ship and the Mariner-go with Royal! WAYYYYY BETTER!

Pros: naps

Cons: SPA=what a waste!

Recommends Carnival Splendor? No.

Entertainment
The Cluod 9 Spa fee for a weeks pass-$249 per couple-was a HUGE rip-off! All you get is a hottub and several steam rooms!! Nothing more and nothing fancy at all! Save your money and learn from my mistake. Individual cost was $150 per person. Shows were a bore! My wife fell asleep at the Rock-n-Roll review. Male singer slurred his words like he forgot them repeatedly!
Ship Quality
Ship layout is awkward and clumsy! No central area other than lido deck. No eye-grabbing aumbiance like othet cruise ships have. Even older Carnival ships have a better atrium area. Ship was clean, like one would expect and did not feel crowded, but it truly lacked any vibe or wow-factor. The pink is hidious!
Food and Dining
In a sentence: It's crusie food! Plenty of it, none of it memorable. The Pinnacle was good, but WAYYY too many restrictions and the service was horrible. We had a Russian girl who spoke with such a heavy accent we could not understand half of what she said!
Cabin / Stateroom
Best part...we were at the very back-6483, had an angle off the starboard as well as the rear of the ship! No ffor traffic at all but room did rattle and shake during approach and leave of ports.
Service and Staff
Friendly-like all the rest. Except of course in The Pinnacle/
