My first cruise was on Carnival ten years ago. I have been on eight or nine cruises since then - all on other cruise lines - and wasn't expecting much from Carnival. But this was a great cruise, very inexpensive, and met all of my expectations. No problems at all: Nice ship, great service and attitudes, and a great time overall. It was a great price - $500 including tax and insurance. I will most definitely sail Carnival next year.

Also, the fellow passengers were great, I witnessed very few pompus asses and also didn't see anybody trying to wear cutoff Metallica shirts to the dining rooms. Most men wore suits on elegant nights and we saw few shorts and flipflops on casual nights.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Breakfast was very poor quality: Sausages, bacon, breads, and coffee were definitely below par. Lunch and dinner were much better, though. Pinnacle dining room had high quality, prime-grade steaks - worth the $30. Don't miss it.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows are geared towards the older crowd. Comedy shows were not, though. Very adult.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We were told there were 600 kids under 18. Nice job keeping them occupied, very few problems. Rarely saw kids roaming around at all. Strange spot for the water-slide - right above the "adult bathing area?"

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Not as fancy as other cruise lines, but we always got 100% service and good attitudes. Really, not one bad attitutude the entire week. Crew never seemed bored or stressed, either.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean, saw few people use hand sanitzers, though.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Very poor quality channel selection. Three or four Carnival "info-mercials," and maybe a handful of other channels. There were three movie channels that often didn't work, but the thirty pay-movies that were nine dollars each always worked. Funny. Espn and local news would have been good, but a Denver local station? Dumb. Good bathrooms, very clean rooms.

Pros: price, service

Cons: breakfast
