Ship: Carnival Spirit
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Family (young children)

Compared with other cruise lines i have travelled on, The Spirit, which apparently had just come out of dry dock, looked old and tired. Carpets had gum stains, rust all over the decks. Used a lot of paint to cover up problem areas. You can tell they just dont spend a lot of time keeping the ship well maintained

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was fine. The staff just went around doing their jobs. Did not go out of there way to make us feel welcome. We felt the staff all over the ship, just went day by day, doing their jobs, while smiles, and customer service where weak

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Unless you are 20, and drink and gamble all day and all night, every day, the entertainment options are limited. The shows were nothing compared to Disney, or Princess. They had two comedians as our entertainment for 5 nights. Thats it.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Kids clubs were weak. Our kids, and some friends of ours on another ship that we met while in Cabo, all had same complaints: Both Carnival Ships, terrible kids programs. One kid go back after day 2. On our ship, there werent even enough kids to fill the 12-14 age club.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Just doing their jobs, and nothing more. Did not go out of way to smile, or make you feel very special, as most other ships in other cruise lines, do.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Again, stains, gum in carpet, rust, just not what i have seen on other cruise lines

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Gum and other stains in carpets. Balcony had rust.

Pros: cheap

Cons: Terrible Kids Clubs

Recommends Carnival Spirit? No.
