We recently sailed to Alaska on the Carnival Spirit, I was impressed with the cleanliness and the fact that someone was always, cleaning, polishing, etc and seemingly without direct supervision. The decor was lovely, the layout similar to other Carnival ships so it felt familiar. The staff was terrific always willing to be helpful and always cheerful.

Pros: Cleanliness, friendly staff, great entertainment, excellent food

Cons: A little rainy but did not take away from the beauty of the trip

Service and Staff
Everyone we encountered with the exception of a white uniformed person at the Guest Service desk was wonderful We had an early flight on the day of departure and I went to Guest Services several days ahead to make arrangements to debark early. He told me it was not possible and refused to discuss it further, he was dismissive and walked away . I revisited the desk another time and got a wonderfully helpful young lady who was able to accommodate our needs. We along with several others were able to get to our flights on time thanks to her.
Ship Quality
exceptionally clean
Food and Dining
We prefer the lido deck buffet vs the dining room. The selection was incredible and usually always offered what was in the dining room. We love the variety and presentation that we have there and enjoy the more casual atmosphere. Each meal was anxiously awaited to see what new tempting dishes we would get to try.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our room steward Manuel and his helpers kept our room spotless. In addition Manuel was helpful about answering questions about the ship itself and about the ports that we stopped at. The beds were extremely comfortable, we had plenty of hotwater, which had been a problem on another cruise we took. My only little complaint and it isn't really is that our room located at the rear of the ship had a balcony but because of the sloping of the rear of the ship by design our balcony did not really have much of a overhead covering and being the we had some drizzle we were not able to sit outside at that time. Next time we will know.
The two "Broadway" type musical revues were outstanding. However we found the rest of the entertainment started too late for us as we are early to bed and early to rise.
