An okay cruise
Carnival Spirit Cruise Review to Mexico
Review SummaryComedian and Magician were great shows. Other shows are geared toward entertaining 20's to 40's era. People who appreciate this type of entertainment are now in their 90's. Shows should be geared to entertain the 65 year old and younger crowd who are now paying and traveling on these cruises. That means 60's and later music. Now I know what Simon Cowell means on American Idol when he says "Very cruiseship".
Food is great except lido deck buffet has too many "soggy" choices in the fish, Italian and Mexican areas. Chicken burito was all beans. Hamburgers and fries are good. Drink machines and ice machines were often out of order on this ship. Coffee was great in diningrooms but luke warm on lido deck. Lido deck was clean.
Could not swim while ship was traveling as it was too cold.
Smoking areas were less on this ship which was a pleasant surprise as Conquest got way too smokey.
Tips are factored in but they still "beg" for a tip for the matre'd. If he deserves a tip just factor it in. Stop begging.
Also way too many pictures taken. $12 minimal for small pic is quite pricey.
TV folio had days where it would not show up so you didn't realize how much extra you were spending. Also Entertainment Director show and info were often a day behind.
Casino was very "stingy". Saw only a few win small amounts. Only four 5 cent
poker machines which people were fighting over.
Was not easy to disenbark this ship. No one seemed to be in control.
Traveled out of Galveston on the Conquest 6 months previous and they had their act together so much better than this ship.
Had a great time at "Senior Frogs" in Acapulco and it was short walk back to the ship.
Purchased jewelry onboard and received it with connector links already seperated from item. Should be soddered. Lost a new bracelet the first night.
Not found at lost and found.
Husband had toe issue believed to be beginning of gout which was very painful. Went down to doctor office 3 times with no one anywhere to be seen.
Doc was supposed to be in office morning and late afternoon but sign posted that he wasn't there. Duh!! I figured that out by locked door. Someone should be there at all times. Talked to Guest Services and they acted like they knew nothing about the doctor and his hours. Wondered where he went for 4 hours each afternoon. Maybe flew off ship for golf date. Also sign stated he would not take care of any seasickness issues. Had 14 foot waves on last day and saw lots of nauseous people. What good is a doctor if he can't help you on the sea with seasick issues?
Pros: Shows, cleanliness of room
Cons: Too cold for pool, lido deck buffet, cruise director
