We did the Vancouver round trip Inside Passage 7day to ALASKA. Glacier Bay is incredible on any ship. However, DO NOT let Anyone talk you into the copter-glacier walk excursion in Juneau! We spent $730 for a 10 min helicopter ride thru fog, freezing rain and low clouds to walk around for only 100yds on a patch of snow and then 10 min ride back. They wil not cancel any trip for weather so you book ahead and on a lousy day you see nothing and pay more than the cruise for it! DO not waste your $$ !!
The Spirit is a beautiful ship, Too ornate and gaudy for us, but well laid out , clean and spacious. However..IMPORTANT TIP: before booking check to see if the Spirit is tendering on any port. IF so, do not book that cruise. It took 4 HOURS to get off on a tender in Ketchikan and had to wait 1 hr in line to get back. The crew is totally incompetent in this maneauver. Embarkation was 2.5 hrs in Vancouver to get on the ship.
The service and food was great and as good as any of our past 7 cruises on different lines. We didnt try the upscale additional cost restaurant because the steaks and lobster were perfect in the normal dining room.

Pros: Glacier Bay Scenery

Cons: Shore Excursions

Recommends Carnival Spirit? Yes!
