Review summary

This was my first cruise in over 20 years. We travelled in late July. We now know that summer is over in Alaska by July 4 and that it is almost always raining. Unfortunately, the low lying clouds obscurred any view most days. And it was so rainy that it was too unpleasant to sit outside. We found the excursions far too expensive since we were travelling as a family of 5. And the cruise was predominantly seniors. There were very few children. Overall, this was a poor choice of cruise for our family. If you go, be sure to pack rain gear and extra walking shoes so that they can dry out between wearings.

No excursions.

This town is basically a bunch of stores although there was some interesting historical information. We would have liked to take the train trip but the low lying cloud meant we wouldn't have been able to enjoy scenery.

Sitka, Alaska

We didn't go on any excursions. It was pouring rain.

Skagway, Alaska

We road the tram but we couldn't see a thing because we were in the middle of a cloud. The 1/2 mile nature walk was interesting.
