Review summary

Honestly, I had been waiting to go on this cruise for 5 months. So, I guess to be fair, it had a lot to live up to. However, the weather was a major issue. There was a tropical weather system around the Bahamas, and I know that Carnival has the right to redirect for our safety; but Carnival decided to chase the storm around the Bahamas. There were many times when I felt for my safety. Plus, the smell of vomit in every stairwell leaves a bit to be desired; although, the crew worked around the clock to clean. The food was good. The food service people were great. My room steward, Robby, was lovely. On the top of the weather issues, Carnival cancelled our excursion, which I had no problem with, considering the weather. But I went to discuss the weather, and if the boat excursion was in fact still on, and they laughed at me and said "yes." Then, as we ready ourselves for arrival, we get a note under the door "excursion cancelled." Thanks for the 30 minute notice. Also, getting the money back for said excursion was problematic, and quite time consuming. I'm glad I brought a copy of my receipt, or I would not have gotten my money. As an final note, we were planning to book another cruise in February with Carnival while in board; however, my family will not go with me if I book Carnival again.

Carnival can't control the weather.

Its a risk you take when you book during hurricane season. Peak hurricane season runs August-November. They can't control the weather and sometimes yes you find out at the last minute your excursion has been canceled. I love to cruise in May. The seas are calm and usually no rain. I live in NY and wouldn't cruise during the winter months because flights tend to get delayed/cancelled

Try a different ship. We loved Carnival Pride, but hated Carnival Paradise, so we're going on the Pride again in December. Also, try to not book during hurricane season, because the weather does play a huge part in whether you have a wonderful time vs a terrible time. I hope you enjoy your next cruise much more!!
