We returned last week from a 4 night cruise on the Carnival Sensation.  We stopped in Freeport and Nassau.  The ship was well maintained.  The staff was excellent.  The food was good and plentiful.  My younger daughter enjoyed the slides and the unlimited ice cream but did not enjoy the Circle C club(ages 12-14)  She didn't enjoy the other kids in the club.  They were acting too old and vulgar for their ages.  My older daughter however loved the kids in the O2 club.  The hung out every evening of the cruise.  The ports were ok.  Freeport is an industrial port but has shopping just off the ship.  Other than that I guess you would have to take an excursion.  All we did was shop and return to the ship to enjoy it without so many people on board.  Nassua was definitely a bigger tourist city.  There was plenty of shopping and dining right off the ship.  We walked to Junkanoo Beach.  Not the best kept beach but not horrible.  No fee to enter this beach.  The straw market was not what I expected.  Tons of booths all selling the same thing packed in an open air warehouse.  The women selling the merchandise are very respectful.  They offer you deals but are ok when you say "no thank you".  They have a tough job. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise.

The cabin was clean and the room steward was great. We didn't like the layout with the two fold down bunks being on each end of the main bed. One on top of the other on one wall would have been preferred. When the beds were down, it was tough to get around the room. Only the room steward can raise and lower the beds.

Ship Tip

Ask for what you want/need, you will usually get it. The staff is very accommodating.
