The initial rate may seem low but by the time you are done, you will have spent much more than you want. I would call this the Walmart of cruise lines. Look out for hairy guys with butt cracks exposed At the pool, tacky women with way too much unappetizing flesh showing and little kids running around unsupervised. The cabin was, for the most part, clean and well kept although there was a bad raw-sewage smell in the bathroom. The pan in the shower was cracked and I'm not sure where all that water was going. The meals in the main dining room were mass produced diner quality. Meats were generally fatty and overcooked. In fact, most items suffered from over-cooking. The wait staff tries hard but there were so many language barriers that orders were frequently wrong. Drinks were overpriced and if you didn't watch your drink being made, they ended up severely watered down with sour mix or fruit juice. There were no quite little venues to have drinks before or after dinner. The whole ship was filled with loud, poorly executed music (seems they think loud equates to good) with a lot of "70's and 80's" music. Overall, not much variety and everything pretty much sounded the same after a while. The "Piano Bar" sounded like a good idea but the guy singing was LOUD and strangely gravely voiced. Billy Joel never sounded like that. No conversation is possible in these places they are so loud. Overall, you get what you pay for here. (If you do not turn your cell phone off IMMEDIATELY, the moment you begin to leave port, you will be charged international rates BY CARNIVAL which your phone provider will not be able to reverse. Even if you do not use your phone! My phone was on the desk, turned on, while we did the whole life drill thing. By the time we got back to the room (about an hour after leaving port), my phone bill was $90 for automatically downloaded email which was NOT covered by my international plan because Carnival owns the cell towers. AT&T was very nice but couldn't help me, said the always have a problem with Carnival. There you go.
