This was our very first cruise and we were very pleased with our decision to have had it on the Carnival Sensation.  We purchased this 3 night cruise through BJ's Wholesale and decided to purchase the airfare through BJ's as well.  Doing so ensures that the airline itinerary matches your cruise departure and gets you where you need to be without any glitches or oversights.  Our good experience started at the Orlando International Airport where we were greeted by a Carnival employee who instructed us to the Carnival check in desk.  The desk clerk was very patient and thorough with us and explained how things would work throughout the boarding process.  We were then met outside by the shuttle bus driver provided by Carnival (operated by Mears) where our belongings were loaded onto the bus for us.  We decided to have Carnival transport us, again, because if you buy from them they will ensure your prompt arrival as opposed to getting there yourself and taking a chance at missing the ship.  The driver was very professional, courteous, and informative, explaining how things would play out for us once we departed the bus and entered security.  We entered security and were processed through very quickly by friendly, efficient, and speedy staff.  We had priority booking as we were staying in a suite and were given our keys within 15 minutes.  Once processed, we entered the Carnival Sensation.  We found this ship to be everything we had hoped it would be.  It was VERY clean, spacious, well appointed, and staffed with very professional, friendly, and outgoing people.  We ate lunch at the Ledo deck buffet and found the variety of food to be of good quality and good variety.  There were American, Mongolian, Italian, and BBQ food stations. salad bars, dessert bars, as well as ice cream stations.  The food was plentiful, appealing, and well stocked.  The only thing that we disliked about the Ledo buffet were the overbearing servers trying to push you to buy very expensive alcoholic beverages.  It is no exaggeration to say we were solicited for alcohol 8-10 times during our 30 minute meal.  I felt like telling them to go away and if I wanted alcohol I knew where to find them, but I digressed.  We checked into our suite V-27. It was very spacious, clean, modern, and well appointed.  The balcony was plenty big and offered two chairs and a small table for drinks or food. The bed was very comfortable , the linens were great, the water had great pressure and the water was very hot.  The 24 hour room service was very fast and the food was very good, I may even say it was better quality food than you get in the restaurants.  The housekeepers knew your name and worked very hard to keep the place clean.  The meals in the Fantasy dining room were very good.  The food was of surprisingly good quality and the service was absolutely wonderful.  The waiters were very good, attentive and always knew your name.  The ship is in good shape, however, some may say it is dated.  The hot tubs in the Serenity area were very nice.  The adult only rules were enforced.  At no time did I see any kids in this area.  The onboard entertainment was good.  The comedians were pretty funny, the casino was nice, the walking track was a nice option, and the cruise director was entertaining as well.  The band Administration was absolutely fantastic! They played outside the casino in Saturday night and were a highlight of our cruise, they were that good.  There is plenty to do to stay busy and the options are plentiful.  There are jewelry stores, duty free stores, and gift shops on board as well.  We were extremely happy with every aspect of the cruise and we would surely seek out Carnival Cruise Lines again.  The return shuttle back to the airport was smooth and we had plenty of time to board our plane.  I have nothing but good things to say about Carnival.  Thanks for the good memories!

Ship Quality
Somewhat dated, however, very clean and well maintained.
Food and Dining
Good alcoholic beverages, expensive though. Good quality food.
Service and Staff
All staff was very professional and very attentive.
Entertainment
The band "Administration" was fantastic.
Children's Programs No kids, thankfully.
Onboard Activities
Good variety, plenty to do.
Destinations and Excursions
We didn't do any excursions. We were happy not doing so.
Cabin / Stateroom
V-27 had an obstructed view, which we knew about. We were very happy with our suite. No issues or complaints what so ever. Very spacious and very comfortable beds.
Port Canaveral, Florida
Excellent staff here. Processed very quickly. Pretty scenery.
Nassau, Bahamas
Honestly, this wasn't as nice as we were hoping for. Slightly disappointed.

Tip

Bring your sunscreen and Dramamine.
