Review SummaryI would have given this cruise a 5-star rating until we docked at Nassau and had an unpleasant experience with guest services. My daughter put a fifty dollar bill into your change machine across from the guest services desk and only received thirty dollars back. When my daughter went to the guest services desk to inform Olga (from the Ukraine at ~3pm) of the matter, she nonchalantly asked her if she had a receipt stating she was shorted by the machine. My daughter stated she did not receive a receipt. Olga told her with a firm, yet I don't believe you tone, that if the machine shorted you you would have receipt stating this. She also stated she could not do anything about this for 24hrs. I walked over after about 15 minutes to find out what was going on. She told me the same thing in a condescending tone as well. I informed her that there were six of us in our party using that machine and not one of us received a receipt documenting our transactions. It is then she scribbled our cabin number on a piece of paper and said it would take 24hrs to resolve with the paymaster. I told her to call her supervisor now that was not acceptable. She called the paymaster who supposedly told her it would take 24hrs to resolve the matter. I told her to call her and back and tell her I want her down here now telling me this story, because Olga hung up so abruptly. She called back and stated it would take 30 minutes for the paymaster to arrive. I asked what she was doing that would take her 30 minutes to appear at guest services? She responded she's working and walked off. Now that attitude angered me. I told her call her back now and get her down here now! Ten minutes later paymaster Katalin (from Hungary) shows up. She opens up the machine and there it was my daughter's twenty dollar bill and other bills as well stuck at the bottom of your machine. Instead of her giving my daughter her money immediately she briskly walks to a back room in guest services. I went over to the desk and told Olga I need my daughter's money now and she reluctantly went and got it. No apology or anything. The young man working with Olga said he don't know why she told us it would take 24hrs to resolve a matter as such. That made me think those two were in co-hoots with one another and they probably have done this before. With no receipt and a 24hr lapse in time they can say they didn't find any money and split the money among themselves. When my sister inquired about what they were going to do with the other money she stated we just wait until someone inquires about it. This experience left a sour taste in my mouth. This was my first Carnival cruise and I decided it will be my last. I will go back to the Disney Cruise line next summer, because it was nothing but a 5-star experience. I am a pharmacist by trade and I know a Loss Prevention problem when I see one. You really need to address this matter, Now before I close out this review I must commend the gold star employees you have on that ship. Antonina (stewardess) did a fine job cleaning our rooms. She was very pleasant and helpful at all times. Wee Jimmy (your Cruise Director) is pure genius, kind and talented. The comedian Azeem was excellent. We are still fondly talking about his jokes and laughing. All you staff in the Seaview Bistro were excellent, however as corporation I think you need to revamp your vegetable selections.
