Great 3-day getaway
Carnival Sensation Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas
Sail Date: August 23, 2012
Ship: Carnival Sensation
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Review SummaryI was concerned about our trip given some of the previous reviews. However, I know this is an older ship. I know it's a 3-day getaway (party cruise). And I know it's a mainstream option. So I wasn't expecting a luxury cruise with gourmet food and multiple entertainment options.
First - the food was fine. We ate in the dining room and the buffet. Both were completely fine. There were not as many choices in the buffet as the mega ships. But what was there was plentiful and good. The salad bar was great. The desserts were great.
Second - the service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, helpful and always willing to help. I don't think Carnival staffs as many as they used to - so the service isn't what it was. But that's not because the people who are there aren't giving their best. They were great.
Third - the ship is a little dated. It's older. But it was clean. And you can see the modernization efforts. There was an occassional odor. But nothing overwhelming and not for long. We always saw crew cleaning.
The room was a little small. But again - it's an older ship. We had an aft balcony and watching us sail away from Port Canaveral or Nassau from the comfort of our balcony was a plus. Keep in mind if you take one of these cabins you will feel motion and hear the engines. But we like that - you know you are at sea :)
