Sail Date: June 10, 2012

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

Immediately when you walk on board, you think you just jumped into 1980's. On V deck, near our cabins, the carpet stunk to high heaven. Noticed a lot of scratches and dings on the walls and one elevator was out of commission. The other elevators were slow.

Pros: Ports were fun, well executed excursions

Cons: Dated ship, showing wear and tear.

Recommends Carnival Sensation? No.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
Food was a far walk away. "24 hour food bar" did not exist and forget about trying to get soda. Service was slow and unfriendly. Dining room was very nice, great food and great service.
Service and Staff
Staff wasnt really friendly. They would answer your questions, but no one was going above and beyond what they had to do. Also noticed that English was not well spoken across the staff.
Entertainment
I was expecting great shows, movies and stuff to do. Seems this trip really pushed the special drinks of the day and let people do what they wanted. There were a total of 2 shows on a 4 night cruise. Also, the emphasis seemed to be on the selling of watches and diamonds and other extremely expensive items. Not to mention that they screamed the sale over and over near the Auditorium. Annoying!!!!
Children's Programs
The Circle C was great, but it would have been nice to provide some educational experience for the kids. Like ship tours that did NOT cost extra money.
Cabin / Stateroom
Size was okay for a jr. suite. Would have like a little more space and the pictures made it seem larger.
