A major let down

Room Type: Oceanview

We were so excited about our first cruise. We only take one vacation per year, so we planned this cruise as that getaway.
The ship was old and in desperate need of an update. Paint was chipped everywhere, outside metal was rusty and chipped as well, the 80's decor was over the top and quite ugly.
We were disappointed to hear that one of our stopovers was cancelled all together, because of "operational needs". This was never explained in detail.
The food was great, most of the service was too. Some of the events on the cruise were very minimal, as proven by the very low attendance. Just low quality events hosted by less-than-excited crew members.
What a disappointment

Pros: Food was great, views were amazing

Cons: Old ship, sewer smells, cancelled port stop,

Recommends Carnival Sensation? No.

Service and Staff
Most were kind and helpful, some were not happy to be there
Ship Quality
Old, rusty, out dated, and very smelly
Entertainment
Low budget and poorly attended. Some events were even cancelled because nobody wanted to see.
Food and Dining
We're we're very pleased with the food
Cabin / Stateroom
We loved our cabin (R3)
