Food Awful, Entertainment Great!

Sail Date: September 11, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The food was awful. The eggs in the morning looked like someone had regurgitated them. The eggs were swimming in a vat of butter. Overall the food either didn't have flavor or it didn't taste fresh (especially the seafood). There are specific smoking areas on the ship (one area on the lido deck, the casino, and one of the lounges). The one that is not listed, is your room. Our room smelled like an ash tray because the people across the hall smoked in their room. They were even smoking in the hallway. When we talked to guest services they told us they were allowed to smoke in their room and they would try to freshen up ours. I knew when they woke up each morning cause the smoke came rolling in. The best part of our cruise was our Stewardess Antonia and one of the Bar Waiters Kishore. They were great!

Pros: Comedy shows

Cons: Food, guests able to smoke in rooms

Recommends Carnival Sensation? No.

Food and Dining
You could eat 24 hours a day which was nice, but the food was horrible. We ate on shore anytime we could.
Ship Quality
The ship was old and you could tell. There was paint scratched off and missing throughout the ship. There wasn't much to do on the ship either.
We only went to the Comedy Show as it was the only thing we were interested in. The shows were great. Couldn't stop laughing.
Cabin / Stateroom
Room was small, but that is expect. It was perfect outside of the stench of an ash tray.
Service and Staff
Which they had done more when we complained about the smoking or have smoking rooms/areas not near non-smoking rooms. Antonia and Kishore were great!
Nassau, Bahamas
Atlantis is amazing. Senor Frogs was a lot of fun. Beaches were great!
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Not much here and you have to take a 20 min taxi ride to get anywhere. Shopping was the same thing over and over. There were no bahamian restaurants in Port Lucaya.
