Review summary

The ship was good condition for being an older ship (launched 1993), and we found it easy to get around in. We did not have a single negative experience with any of the crew on the ship--they all seemed to go out of their way to make sure we had a good experience. This was not my first cruise, but it was my husband's first cruise experience. He's ready to go again!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We learned after the 1st morning not to try to utilize the buffet line for breakfast due to the extreme crowds that were there. We wre able to leave that area, however, and go get served in the dining room.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

We went on the Bahamian cooking instruction trip. We got a great tour of the island plus some history from the individual who took us out to the beach to the place where we were to spend our day. The chef that taught the class (Dawson at Junkanoo) was really very good, very friendly, as was all the staff there. The best part of that excursion was that we not only got to see the dishes prepared but each participant got to then prepare the food--and then eat it. The beach at the excursion site was very nice, clean. We really didn't have enough time after we returned from the excursion to explore Freeport.
Don't Miss: The Bahamian cooking experience

Nassau, Bahamas

The stores on Bay Street. We also took a surrey ride that took us around the downtown area of Nassau tha twas nice. Tell parents to not let their teenagers go unattended to "Senor Frogs." We saw one too many intoxicated high-school age teenagers on the way around town and on the way back to the boat.
Don't Miss: The catamaran/snorkeling trip was pretty spectacular, although I'd have like to have had more than 45 minutes in the water.

Pros: The attentive service in the dining room and the cabin

Cons: The buffet style food service
