Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Port Canaveral was a breeze to get in and out of . The ship was clean and the staff tried very hard to please. Loved our stateroom location and would choose again. Empress Deck makes it very easy to get to everything.

Pros: Good Trip for a Family..Ships Updated with Slides for Kids

Cons: Wish there was more time in port. Needed to take 4 day instead of 3 day.

Recommends Carnival Sensation? Yes!

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
This was my second Carnival Cruise and the food did not compare with my previous experience. The first night everything was late and our table was recieving dinner as the rest of dining room was finishing desert. One quick work to the Maitre D and they worked like crazy to correct on the go forward nights and did an admirable job making sure our table was taken care of.
Children's Programs
Our 11 yr old didn't want to mix with the young kids so she just hung out with us.
Cabin / Stateroom
Loved Empress Deck. Very convenient. We were able to deboard the ship in less thatn 10 minutes on the last day! And everything was very, dining room etc.
Service and Staff
Our steward was great, the dining room staff did everything to make up for the tough first evening, and when we had a problem with our air conditioner not working quite well , they sent person after person from engineering to check on it.
I thought the ship daily fun sheet had lots of great things to do while on board.
Nassau, Bahamas
Don't get me wrong..once you can get to a beach it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. The economy has not been kind to the area and the locals seem quite desparate to get a cab fare, entertain you, get hired or whatever when you step off the boat. It's about like getting into the airport at NY where all the illegal taxi guys are swarming you..only much more aggressive. Get past it, get to a beach and that's the must see.
Don't Miss: Beaches. SKip the Wyndham Hotel experience. It was horrific and we had been before and it's really gone down hill over the last couple of yrs.
