4 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)
Sail Date: March 20, 2011
Ship: Carnival Sensation
Cabin Type: Suite
Traveled As: Family (older children)

The Sensation is an older, smaller ship, however, this ship is adequate for a short, weekend getaway, and the staff is extremely pleasant. We had a lovely time.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
This was our second trip with Carnival, and with each cruise, our seating at dining has not been the best (we had the early seatings for both cruises). Both of our seatings have been near the main entrance, and on this cruise, we were seated with young couples who had very young children. The children were very well behaved, however, a family of similar constitution probably would have been a better choice at this table than ours.

The quality of the food was very good, and the dining staff was excellent.

Specialty options in regard to food seems to have been limited.

Entertainment

The people seemed to enjoy Karaoke, and the shows were adequate.

Two of the lounges (Michaelangelo's was one) appeared to be empty for the duration of the cruise. More activites could be scheduled in these lounges (such as ballroom dancing or ice cream socials).

Children's Programs

Hopefully, the sizes of these clubs can be expanded.

Service and Staff

Very fine staff, overall.

See above comments.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
In regard to the staterooms, we were in the largest stateroom, however, it did seem a bit smaller compared to other cruises we have been on. This is understandable, as the Sensation is older. I would be interested in possibly seeing the rooms on newer Carnival ships, but the pictures at the website are not very detailed, and appear to be stock footage.

There was not much to do or see in Freeport, but this is not the fault of Carnival.
Don't Miss: Not applicable, but we had a nice day.

Wonderful. Your partnership with Atlantis is a brilliant idea. We thoroughly enjoyed our day here.
Don't Miss: Atlantis

Pros: Friendly service; Nassau

Cons: Dining room seating
