Awful from the first moment!

Sail Date: August 01, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

This ship is very dated and depressing. The elevators and state rooms had a terrible urine odor. I have sailed on other cruiselines before and think they are MUCH better.

Pros: The staff was very nice and tried their best

Cons: DIRTY, DATED AND DEPRESSING!

Recommends Carnival Sensation? No.

Ship Quality
The ship is not too big. The condition of the public areas need a lot of renovations... chipped paint, stained carpeting, leaks, odors, etc. This is not so much due to cleanliness as to the ship is in dire need of a total overhaul and complete renovations.
Food and Dining
The food in the dining room is pretty good. But you'll wait forever on line at the buffet and the selection is not the greatest. The ambiance is worn and dated.
Cabin / Stateroom
The stateroom is what you'd expect on a cruise. I've seen nicer ones, but the size is comparable. We spotted some mold in the shower stall.
Service and Staff
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
