Great weather, good time
Carnival Sensation Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas
Sail Date: April 16, 2009
Ship: Carnival Sensation
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Large Group

Knowing that we were only able to do a four day cruise but wanting balconies left us with few options. This ship has added on some balconies although the interior cabin space is tight because those balconies seemed to be a retrofit. We had excellent service in the formal dining room but the casual areas for breakfast and lunch need attention. Maintainance issues meant not enough water pressure for the coffee machines one morning, no ice another day and they need to get extra folks bussing tables so that you don't have tables covered in dirty breakfast dishes when sitting with your lunch. The schedule allows for a good amount of time in Nassau. They have made an attempt to makes some areas "non-smoking" which we appreciated.
Ports of Call
Don't Miss: Have a drink at Senor Frogs when you get off the boat. You can grab a seat by the water.
Pros: Carnaval is trying the "Open Dining" option found on some other lines which I hope they decide to continue. It allowed us to dine closer to 7 or 7:15 and we also were able to have a table of four and not sit with strangers.
Cons: Ship is "tired" and in need of freshening up. While in the dining room was excellent, service in the casual eating areas was spotty.
