Review summary

We booked this cruise (a 4-night Bahamas trip out of Port Canaveral) only weeks before sailing, and the price was unbelieveable for what we received. We booked it through on the internet, and the process could not have been easier. Our tickets arrived in a timely fashion, and we were set to go. Port Canerval is an easy in/easy out terminal to reach with lots of parking for those who arrive by car. Carnival is very organized in getting all the passengers through the security procedures required these days and onto the ship. We had booked an inexpensive cruise with an inside room on a lower deck, but our room was still well appointed and comfortably made up for us as a kingsize bed. Our room steward was friendly, readily available, and the room was "refreshed" in a very timely fashion twice a day. We have always felt the most amazing portion of any cruise that we have taken is the quality and quantity of food, and this Carnival cruise was no exception. I took our waiter's suggestions each evening as to what to order, and he never steared me wrong. We dine out regularly in fine restaurants, and therefore feel confident in saying that Carnival is doing a fantastic job in providing their passengers with great dining experiences! We were seated with two other friendly couples, and we enjoyed talking with them each evening as we compared our daily activities. Two of the evening shows over the four nights included very elaborate musical presentations, and this is where Carnival really shines over many other cruise lines. These were the best shows that we have ever seen on a cruise ship. The beautiful costume changes along with the energetic singing and dancing of these young people was one of the highlights of the cruise. We also enjoyed the Reggae band that played most of the afternoon each day on the lido deck. The music, along with the daily contests, kept the pool scene lively and festive. The cruise director on our ship certainly helped provide the "fun ship" experience that Carnival is famous for. His impromptu interviews on stage were some of the funniest we have ever heard; he is a natural at what he does. How Carnival can provide all of the above plus much more at a price that almost everyone can afford is wonderful. For those of you who have never cruised, you just cannot beat the value in cruising over other types of vacations. Would we take another Carnival cruise? You bet!

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

Stepping off the ship and being right in the middle of town is a plus for Nassau. It makes going back and forth very easy if you are there for an overnight.
Don't Miss: the tour of Atlantis

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Pros: The Reggae band on the lido deck and the musical shows

Cons: The other bands in the lounges - much too loud to enjoy
