Review summary

My wife and I booked the September 24th, 2006 sailing of Carnival Sensation through at a fantastic savings. The four night cruise far exceeded our expectations. Service thru-out the entire ship was excellent, and the food was truely first class. We were slightly disappointed with the Main Dining Room, in that the abundance and variety of food in all of the other areas of the ship made the formality of eating at a certain time questionable. I would advise everyone to spend an hour or so getting familar with the layout of the ship. The food on the Lido Deck was in our opinion equal to the formal meals, and we had Boneless Prime Rib, Turkey, Shrimp, Pork Roast, and Fresh Fish, to give you an idea as to the variety. In addition they have Pizza on the Lido Deck 24/7, and there is no charge for roomservice. The gym or fitness center was spotless and had every type of equipment that a Gold's or World's offers. The steam room and sauna were clean and there was no backup or waiting. Freeport and Nassau were nice to visit, and the locals were friendly and honest. My wife and I cannot wait to go again, and with the "if it ain't broke don't try to fix it" reasoning we will definitely go on the Sensation.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Atlantis worth seeing, but to pricey for us. Freeport was definitely more laid back.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

5 out of 5
Definitely worth seeing, nice shops, cold beer, and non-pushy natives.
