This was my husband and my first cruise and it couldn't have been better. Embarkation went very smoothly. We arrived at the port around 11:00am, went straight to the desk with our documents in hand and were assigned to the first boarding group. We started boarding about 12:45pm.I would suggest arriving early. There were no lines and we were able to get a good seat in the waiting area with a great view of the ship. After boarding, we found our cabin and then headed for the Seaview for lunch. Even though the ship is almost 10 years old, she's in great shape. The crew was constantly cleaning and painting. The food was very good and there was a wide variety to choose from. The West Indian pumpkin soup was fantastic! There was always something to eat at any time of the day or night. There was always something to do and the entertainmant was very good. Our favorite public room on the ship was the Polo Lounge, nice overstuffed chairs by the windows made it a cozy place to have after dinner drinks. The staff was wonderful. Our favorites were Alexandra from Slovakia and Elmer from Panama. We had a blast in the casino every night but make sure you set a limit and stick to it. The Fantasia Lounge can be a litte chilly. We loved the towel animals our room steward made every night and took pictures of them. Our room was always cleaned twice a day and nice little chocolates laid on our pillows at night. Grand Cayman and Cozumel were beautiful and New Orleans was a blast. We hated to see it end. Disembarkation also went smoothly. We got up at 7:00am, showered, and went to the Seaview for our farewell breakfast. We finished our coffee on the deck for one final look and proceeded to our disembarkation area. They assign you a color and an area to meet in by no later than 8:45am. They started calling colors about 8:45am and we were off the ship by 10:am and at the airport by 11:00am. We did use a taxi. This was the best vacation we ever had and we are planning on taking another cruise with Carnival next summer. They made us feel like kings and queens. Thanks Carnival!
