Wonderful Time on the Sensation

Sail Date: January 06, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The Sensation's decor is a little dated...definitely a product of the 80s, but is always immaculately clean. The staff does an amazing job of keeping things clean and are always very nice. The food in the main dining rooms is absolutely amazing and has a very nice variety. I really recommend this cruise to anyone who is looking for a nice 4-5 day vacation.

Pros: Awesome food, amazing staff

Cons: High drink prices

Recommends Carnival Sensation? Yes!

Ship Quality
The cleanliness is out of this world. They are constantly picking up and tidying things up. Wonderful!
Food and Dining
Great deal of options in all dining areas. Main dining halls are amazing, with a lot of food options I had never eaten before.
Service and Staff
The first day, we went and spoke to the maitre d' to see if we could get our dinner seating changed and he was more than accomodating. The steward and all staff were very nice and always willing to start up a conversation.
Cabin / Stateroom
The size was adequate, but we did not spend that much time in our room. There was enough room to lay out both of our large suitcases and still be able to move around with ease. The bathroom was actually large enough to fit 2 people into. The beds were super comfortable and clean.
Entertainment
The Far from Over show was fantastic, especially if you are a fan of 80s music. I was rather disappointed in the Curves show, mainly because I was expecting an underlying theme that never came. The dancing was amazing though and definitely worth going to see.
Nassau, Bahamas
The jewelry shopping here is outstanding...as long as you are willing to barter. The island is very beautiful and there are a lot of things to do and see. Senor Frogs is a definite hot spot at night and focuses mainly on getting drunk, but has good music to dance to.
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
There is not much to do regarding shopping or sightseeing here, so definitely plan to do an excursion. We did the sailing and snorkling tour and it was amazing!
