Carnival Sensation Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas
Review SummaryThe ship decor was a bit disco, but if you like the retro-look this ship is for you!
Lots of neon and purple decor, however, not rundown or dated looking.
The rooms are clean and roomier than some other cruises we've been on, especially the cabin bathrooms. A large shower with lots of medicine cabinet storage, makes it easy to keep the cabin orderly.
We had a inside cabin in the front of the ship, which kept the hallway traffic and noise to a minimum, however if you like to sleep in, these rooms are not for you!
When they fire up the thrusters to leave port at 6:30 am, it's loud enough to wake the dead! Since we are early-risers it didn't bother us. However, this "complimentary wake-up call" (as we referred to it), became kind of a standing joke throughout the cruise.
The food was very good, but not excellent. Presentation also good, but not outstanding. Service was above average, and the automatic gratuity is a joy!
We never felt like we were being "hustled for tips" and if we got great service, we rewarded the appropriate waitstaff person.
This was a spur-of-the-moment trip booked mainly due to the low price of the cruise. Having cruised four times in the last 15 years, we didn't expect much.
Were we pleasantly surprised! Not only was the cruise a great value, but the overall experience far exceeded our expectations!
Food and Dining
Our entertainment marginal.
Service and Staff
Cabin / Stateroom
Pros: The 80's show was worth what we paid for the entire cruise!
Cons: The entertainment on the nights when their was no broadway type show; the comedian and juggler were not worth the time.
