A so-so cruise

Sail Date: October 05, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was tacky. The atrium was all mirrored with purple and green fluorescent lights. It looked like a space ship. The ship was very crowded and everything tightly scheduled. There were lines for everything and it was hard to find a seat on deck. If you're looking for a three day party, then you might like this cruise. If you're looking to relax with a little ambience, then STAY AWAY.

Pros: show

Cons: crowded and tacky

Ship Quality
Ship was clean. Pretty easy to get around. Sun decks too small to accommodate the number of passengers on board.
Food and Dining
Dining room food was excellent. Service was excellent. The buffets were so-so. Buffets reminded me of a cafeteria. I was also disappointed in the lack of variety.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had outside passage, E (Empress) deck. Rooms were small but beds and pillows VERY comfortable. Steward service good. Rooms clean. Decor TACKY. Rooms are orange and gray. Kind of depressing.
Service and Staff
Wait staff and stewards excellent. Only bartenders not up to par.
Entertainment
The shows were good, but comedians were always scheduled at midnight. I would have liked to have seen earlier comedy acts. There were lines getting on and off the boat. A fair amount of wait time for activities after we got off ship in Nassau. We wasted a lot of time in our short three days waiting in line.
Nassau, Bahamas
If you want to spend some time sunning on the beach, there's a hotel next to the straw market and Senor Frogs that will let you use their beach, pool and towels for $15. It was nice.
