A fun short cruise

Sail Date: July 13, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

I was impressed by the cleanliness and the staff everywhere were wonderful. We made the mistake of not putting our kids in the Club Carnival at all during the cruise - it's not a great cruise for bringing kids unless you do the Club Carnival for them. We found the baby pool was VERY difficult to get to with a stroller - many stairs to negotiate - which made no sense at all. The food was very good. LOVED that they did photo shoots for family poirtraits - very affordable and they came out great - probably would never have gotten family photo if wasn't for this. If you have kids or are a big soda drinker - get the Fun Fountain Pass as soon as you get on the ship!! We didn't find out about it untill the 2nd day (there is SO MUCH information given it's easy to miss) - saves alot of money.

Pros: The Spa!!

Cons: Amount of time in Bahamas too short

Ship Quality
Ship was very clean - staff was always cleaning!! Decor a little dated but it was fine. Alot of walking for little kids unless you have stroller and some areas were very stroller UNFRIENDLY - see review
Cabin / Stateroom
Room was clean and nice - just a little smaller than expected.
Food and Dining
Food was very good. Daughter LOVED the 24 hr soft serve ice cream!!
Service and Staff
All staff we encountered were very friendly and extremely helpful. Always took the time to stop and talk to our 2 year old and ask if they could get him anything.
Entertainment
Children's Programs
We didn't use and are kicking ourselves!! The program looked interesting - each time we saw them they look like they were having a blast.
Nassau, Bahamas
We went out on our own - hit Bay Street shoppes and the Straw Market - don't bother with Atlantis unless you bought the Excursion - you can't do too much there. Cabbage Beach (a public beach recommednded by our cab driver) was beautiful but did involve a little hilly walking and there were no facilties - but again it was beautiful and there were lots of water sports & chair & umbrella rentals available.
Don't Miss: If you are into shopping - Bay Street!!!!
