Review summary

We had a great time , this was our second trip on the Carnival Pride. The casino and casino bar were of decent size. They allow smoking in there so we didn’t spend a lot of time.

Embarkation

Very well organized. Took us at our scheduled time with no problems.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The two eateries by the pool, Guys Burgers and the Blue Iguana Cantina were delicious. The buffet food quality and tasted was above average. The main dining room was fantastic. We had brunch in the main dining every “at sea” day.

Butterflies Lounge

5 out of 5

Great lounge and views. Drink service staffed hustled which was nice so that you don’t have to go get a drink in the dark when they turn the lights down. The flooring ramp/slope could be a problem for those with mobility issues. It is awkward and not flat at all.

EA Sports Bar

2 out of 5

The sports bar is called the Skybox. They only get Carribean ESPN signals while out of Baltimore and in the Carribean. Was unable to see some playoff baseball because it was broadcast on Fox. Same with Hockey. If you like cricket, rugby, soccer this is the place for you. While in Port they were able to show the NFL and plenty of college football on Saturday. One bartender who seemed uninterested and no wait staff.

Pizza Pirate

5 out of 5

Very tasty pizza and available 24hrs a day. Made when ordered so plan on waiting 7-8 mins for it.

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

Delicious burgers and fries. That’s all they do here but they are great. There is a fixin’s bar off to the side with usual toppings, plus specialty toppings (grilled onions, mushrooms etc)

Bonsai Sushi

5 out of 5

Delicious food and reasonably priced. It is not included with the cruise.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

Great food, made to order while you wait. There never seemed to be a line here, was able to grab a bite and go very fast.

Onboard Activities

Serenity Adult-Only Retreat

5 out of 5

Very small pool, but it was quiet as advertised and the bar service was really fast, both at the bar and their wait staff. Located on the rear of deck 9.

Cabin / Stateroom

The size and comfort was acceptable. Our attendant was wonderful. The only issue I have was the temperature control. It was cool to almost warm. The couple we traveled with and had a room 2 doors away way very cool and comfortable. We contacted engineering twice and they told us it was within Carnival standards and essentially we had to live with it.

Ship tip

Check and make sure the AC and heat work properly before you unpack so they can fix it right away or move you to another room if one is available.

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Beautiful island, we did not do any excursions. Just enjoyed the beach. They have wait service on the beach offering sodas and adult beverages just like on the ship. These drinks are not included with the “Cheers package” on board. All drinks will be charged to your room, plus service fee and tip. We ordered one Pina Colada and it was $18. The food is buffet style and included. No fee.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Great weather, hung out at the beach and Margaritaville. Both within walking distance.

Disembarkation

We waited on deck 9 for our deck number to be called. I set my timer on my phone and from the time we got on the elevator to go to deck 2, to packing the car and pulling out was 26 minutes. That’s to include getting off the ship and going thru customs, then retrieving our bags. I was very impressed.
