Review summary

The cruise was overall OK. I hated the fact that I purchased bottomless bubbles and couldn't use it in room service. So when I had really bad motion sickness, I had to keep going to a bar to get ginger ale. That sucked!! I also didn't like how they automatically charged me for gratuity after I gave cash tips to who I wanted to have it. Then they charged my account $180 for gratuity at 3am like I wasn't going to notice when I got up. I really did not like that at all. They make enough money off of you to book the cruise. Also I didn't like how expensive the pictures were. One day the special was buy a canvas for 59.95 get a smaller picture free. I went to purchase the canvas, and they told me the free picture I got was the smaller version of the canvas picture. What sense does that make. Why would I want 2 of the same picture. I thought I could pick another photo that was taken. I guess you can say it was ok, but I'm not pressed to go back on Carnival. It was my honeymoon, and I felt like I spent as much money on the cruise as I paid to book the cruise just to get HALF of the things I wanted.

Embarkation

The process was long getting on the boat. I checked in early online. I thought that meant something, but it definitely did not.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was delicious especially David's Steakhouse. I just didn't like how you couldn't use bottomless bubbles when ordering room service.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The activities were excellent going, but it wasn't that much interesting stuff happening coming back. Happy Cole was awesome, and so was Kyle the dancer. I loved movie night, but someone else besides Saffie should be able to host events, maybe Kyle. He's very fun, and entertaining.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Happy Cole was great, and so was Ms. Drumz. I also enjoyed the young lady that sung most of the songs at piano bar. Her voice was great. The ice carving was fun also.

What a bitter, uninformed, negative complainer!

A cruise vacation is what you make of it. You don't have to tip cash for drinks when gratuity is already added. And you certainly are not forced to purchase pictures. If you don't like paying the gratuities for the crew, which they depend on and work hard for, then have them removed and give cash at the end of the cruise. Like twangster said do your research, plan accordingly, set a budget, and you dont have be frustrated and spend more than you want.

Every day users of this app ask how drink packages work, ask about gratuity, plus many other common questions are asked often. That's OK, they're researching their cruise before they board. For your next cruise I'd suggest a little research.

My family has always done royal..last year we decided to try carnival and it was on the pride...worst experience ever. Won't go into detail but I wouldn't trade royal for carnival EVER!!

That's why I pay mine when I book

Gratuities are added on all cruise lines. It states the addition when you book. Also bottomless bubbles rules are stated when you bought that. If you ever cruise again, at least now you know. Picture thing was kinda dumb.

Tips are how the crew get paid you did not have to buy the pictures
