Carnival Pride

Sail date: July 02, 2017

Ship: Carnival Pride

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 6277

Review summary

Visit Bermuda but stay off the Pride until they refurb it. It's a lot of money for old and in need of work. Be sure to check out Horseshoe Bay, Hamilton-the Pickled Onion is nice and St Georges.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and efficient especially with the delay in boarding because of a medical emergency on the prior cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We cruise often and the menu doesn't change enough, We were on another Carnival ship in January and the menus were identical.

Onboard Activities

Serenity pool was wonderful on port days otherwise all the pools were so packed you could only stand.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Friendly and all around a great crew. Service in dining room was fabulous!!

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
In serious need of updating and repairing. Rust everywhere and the the carpets are frayed and ripped and the some of the tiles wiggle when you walk across them. Will not go on the Pride again until it is refurbed!!!!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was clean and steward was great but it looked and felt old.Bensu

The Pride was in dry dock a couple of years ago. She had new venues added (Bonsai Sushi, Guy's Burger for example.) She also got new water slides as well as new bars and the big screen for movies. She also had renovations done in the common areas as well. I was last on the Pride in November 2016, and unless something major has happened, there was nothing really wrong. People need to realise these ships run 24/7/365. Putting a ship in dry dock costs millions of dollars. Some maintenance can be done while the ship is at sea or while in port.
